Before choosing how to travel
- Specify the village, seafront or exact address, not just Èze.
- Compare the complete journey to your appointment, including connections and walking.
- Confirm the pickup separately if your plans finish down by the sea.
Two destinations, different arrival plans
| Destination | Your reason to go | The question to settle |
|---|---|---|
| Èze village | Hilltop visit, hotel or restaurant | Where can you be dropped off, and what remains on foot? |
| Èze-sur-Mer | Railway station, coast or seaside address | Are you staying here or continuing uphill? |
Choose from your address and plans, not merely the place name suggested by an app.
Begin with the address and which part of Èze you need
The tourist office distinguishes the village on the Moyenne Corniche from the seafront on the Basse Corniche. Ask your hotel, restaurant or local contact which entrance to use.
For a visit, decide what you actually want to do: walk through the lanes, reach a specific appointment or combine two areas. A useful starting point for sightseeing may not be the best arrival with luggage. Keep the agreed address and landmark available offline.
The train: plan what happens after Èze station
The station is by the coast on Avenue de la Liberté. Check SNCF information for your train and intended stop; reaching the station does not complete a journey to the hilltop village.
If your destination is uphill, compare the next stage before buying: a connection suitable for your travel date, waiting, walking and luggage. For a coastal address, check the final stretch too instead of assuming everything is beside the station.

Buses 82 and 83: check the network, direction and date
The official Lignes d’Azur tool shows 82 between Vauban and Plateau de la Justice, calling at Eze Village. Route 83 connects Baie des Fourmis with Plateau de la Justice and serves both Gare Eze and the village.
Select the actual date and direction in the current timetable. Do not plan the return from an old screenshot. The number 82 alone can mislead: the ZOU! route in our Nice–Antibes guide is a different service, not this bus to Èze. From the airport, plan the full itinerary rather than assuming a direct 82 to the village.

The Nietzsche path is a walk, not an effortless connection
The tourist office describes a hiking route between coast and village, with steps, elevation change and uneven sections. Do not treat it as a simple corridor between transport stops.
Choose to walk because it suits your group and the day, not just because a line looks short on a map. With suitcases, a pushchair, heat or walking difficulties, consider another option. Check access conditions before setting out and do not build a fixed appointment around a universal walking-time estimate.
With a driver, confirm the drop-off and the final approach
The tourist office’s village visit includes walking and steps. Booking a car therefore does not establish vehicle access to every doorway or the Exotic Garden.
For a Nice Airport transfer, provide your flight, travellers, luggage and exact address. Confirm a suitable drop-off, then clarify the final approach with the property concerned. Do not infer luggage carrying, private access, entrance tickets or a guided visit from the transfer booking alone.
Request a Nice Airport–Èze transferPrepare a hotel or villa arrivalÈze alone, Èze and Monaco, or a cruise-day stop?
Separate the arrival journey, time at the destination and the next stage. A one-way transfer does not keep the vehicle available throughout your visit. For several stops, describe their order and fixed times so you can compare individual rides with hourly hire.
If you start at the village and finish by the sea, agree the changed pickup point. During a cruise call, the ship’s return deadline needs to frame the programme. Do not add destinations before checking what is realistic within that window.
Understand private touring on the RivieraPlan a return to your shipWhat to send before booking
Name the destination you actually need. Explain what is fixed and what can move, including a restaurant booking, key handover or return. That makes it possible to assess feasibility rather than compare journeys ending in different places.
Check public transport times with the operator for your travel date. For a driver, wait for confirmation of the vehicle, fare and terms. This guide guarantees neither a connection nor entry to a particular property.
- Travel date and departure point, plus flight or train if relevant.
- Èze village, Èze-sur-Mer or exact address.
- Travellers, luggage and walking requirements to discuss.
- Fixed arrival time, requested stops and visiting time.
- Pickup point and time for the return.
- Fare and conditions agreed before booking.
Practical questions
Is Èze railway station in the hilltop village?
No. Plan the onward stage if you are going to the village instead of treating arrival at the station as arrival at your final destination.
Which bus connects the station and village?
Check Lignes d’Azur route 83, selecting your date, direction and exact stops in the official tool. General route information is not a guaranteed departure.
Should I take suitcases up the Nietzsche path?
Do not choose the path as a default transfer solution. Assess terrain, conditions and your group’s abilities; with luggage, compare other ways to travel.
Can a driver drop me directly outside every village hotel?
Drop-off and final access depend on the address and local constraints. Obtain confirmation from the property and transport provider rather than assuming vehicle access to every door.
Does a transfer to Èze include visiting time and the return?
Not without a specific agreement. Say whether you need a one-way arrival, a later pickup or several stops with a driver; each format must be quoted and confirmed.
